Please join us on the square on October 31st for our annual Costume Contest, Boo Parade and Trunk or Treat. This year, we have a few new fun things to do:

Great Pumpkins

This year the Chamber will also have a Pumpkin Decorating Contest, with two categories, Best Carved and Best Decorated. A winner will be chosen from each category. Entry fee is $5.00 per pumpkin. Register your decorated pumpkin at the south courthouse steps by 5:30 p.m. on Halloween to be judged. Winners will be announced at 6:00 p.m. And here’s an insider tip – watch for announcements about this contest on our Facebook page!

Costume Contest & Boo Parade

Costume contest participants may sign up starting at 5:00 p.m. Judging starts at 5:30 and winners will be announced at 6:00. The Boo Parade will immediately follow, leading kids to the Trunk or Treat Line.

Trunk or Treat

For Trunk or Treat, any business or family may set up to give candy, no registration needed. Decorating your trunk is optional, but the Chamber will award a prize for the Best Trunk.

Haunted Trolley Rides

From 7:00-9:00, you can take a Haunted Trolley Ride, starting at the Elks Lodge (where they are hosting their annual Haunted House), looping around the Bates County Museum, then back to the Lodge.
